Those interested in the Pals’ Battalions can visit Authuille (Salford Pals plaque), Mametz and Montauban (Liverpool and Manchester Pals plaque and monument), Serre for the Sheffield Memorial Park, where other Pals are remembered too (Chorley, Barnsley, Accrington...). There are preserved trenches here. (Follow a dirt track to Railway Hollow cemetery for the Sheffield Memorial Park)

A trip to the aforementioned Lochnagar Crater in La Boisselle will allow you to pay your respects to the various Scottish, Tyneside and Northeastern  Regiments who fought here.

Those interested in the story of the Durham Light Infantry should visit the Butte de Warlencourt on the Bapaume Rd.

There is a wealth of material on Wilfred Owen. However, note that he was in a dugout near the Serre Rd Cemeteries, and that he lies in the Communal (not CWGC) cemetery in Ors not too far from Le Cateau.
