After visiting the huge monument to the missing at Thiepval, which bears the names of many Irish soldiers, 

you can move on to the Ulster Tower memorial. 

Here the many Irish soldiers who bravely attacked the formidable Schwaben Redoubt are remembered.  

 
Moving on to Guillemont near Longueval you can combine a trip to the Sth African memorial park with a visit to the memorial in the form of a cross to the 16th Irish Division who fought here in September 1916
