NEW ZEALAND

Visitors to Amiens cathedral will see the plaque paying tribute to the NZ soldiers of the Great War. Otherwise, NZ visitors can find a great deal that is of interest to them in an area around Longueval and Flers, an area at the edge of the Somme near to the Bapaume Road from Albert. There are memorials to the missing soldiers and cemeteries. It is also worth noting that Flers was where tanks were first used on 15th Sept. 1916. Flers was also captured from the Germans by NZ soldiers.
